Essendon have finished the season with a percentage of the even 100%.

As they have the 'Catcher in the Rye' next week- Essendon finish the 2011 Home and Away season having scored 2217 points and conceded 2217 points. Thus there percentage is 100%.

The Western Bombers concluded with 11 -10- 1. If they had of lost their drawn game with the Northern Blues by a point and picked up a point somewhere else- it would have been 11 wins 11 losses 0 draws/ties. That would have been the absolute and complete EVEN season.

Pity it didn't end that way for those of us who like statistical quirks.

It would have been like what we had in the 1979-1980 international cricket season- when the name novelty did occur to those who were hoping for Dennis Lillee to be dismissed in this way-

Lillee caught Willey bowled Dilley
