I'm looking forward to this series. I haven't seen South Africa for a while but they seem as though they will give us a good challenge. I don't think that we were in the best of form against New Zealand despite belting them, so hopefully that has got some of the bad cricket out of us.
I think we can still win the series but I doubt it will be a whitewash.
Who else is looking forward to the series and what do you think the result will be?

I always liked cricket- some series more than others though. We are in a transition state to some degree I guess. With a major chunk of the old guard eg Langer, Martyn, McGill, McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist all leaving "the big league" in recent times.

So Lee, Ponting and Hayden remain and there won't be too many more left years for them. Hussey is a fair age and Clarke is also the high side of 25 so more changes will be in the vicinity.

South Africa will (well we all think will) provide a stiffer opposition than the New Zealanders. I have always admired the Kiwis fighting spirit at cricket, going right back to the 1980-1981 season when they toured here. I went to the 'Underarm' match and they put up a great show that day as in a few other games that season. This time though they just couldn't grasp their chances and paid the penalty- the second test was there for them but they let it slip.

I wouldn't predict a whitewash- Sydney and Perth will perhaps be their best opportunity. Hayden always makes runs on the MCG, Ponting always seems to get a few there too.

Anyhow I will go to the Boxing Day suffering the self inflicted ill effects of eating too much the day before.

Just hope Ponting doesn't stuff up the over rates

They were two very fine test match series in the last few months- Australia v South Africa and South Africa v Australia.

Duminy's innings in Melbourne was one of the best you could see- making runs under pressure when it really counted.
