There was no Presidents Lunch/Dinner Function today at the MCG.

That is massively unusual and as it was an Eastern Tigers home game, it would have been their call NOT to run it.

Gary March the Eastern Tigers President was seen in the Ponsford Stand area wearing a tigers polo shirt rather than the usual suit that Presidents sport at the football.

They cost clubs plenty to hold as the food, drink and entertainment don't cost tuppence, if you get a guernsey to a Presidents Lunch function you are doing well, free food, drink and maybe a singer or band to entertain you as well as the game. So maybe the Eastern Tigers are tightening their belts?

It was probably a good idea I guess if they were looking at saving a few bob- there was only 27,000 people there, most of the tiger fans would have been tiger members and our lot would have been made up predominantly of full home and away members so the gate return in notes and coin would have been low.
