As for where the red and black supporters live- the bomber fans from Essendon and West Essendon I can tolerate their demeanour because that is their local team (even though many of them can be pita's- no disputing that) It is the bomber fans one who have no connection to Essendon (the area) at all and only support them because they have been successful- that can and readily do frustrate me. These are the bomber fans- the ones that go on about the western suburbs etc etc- they do more than any other supporter base- you don't hear Collingwood fans bagging the western suburbs/region as much as others do, because so many Collingwood fans live in the western suburbs!

To lose to the Freemasons on a friday really ruins your weekend.

We were very successful back then too in that pre 1925 era.
Maybe we need a few more Freemasons in positions of power at the club now?
Are there any blokes who know all the secret handshakes around these days who barrack for Footscray?
Then again on the other hand after the Southern Saints game of a few weeks ago, it looked like we were a team of practising Freemasons, because with all the sideways and backwards kicking that night, it seemed like they all had a square and compass in their pocket. Can we safely assume that Barry Hall is NOT a Freemason, because they wouldn't kick the ball to him that night.

Small issues are being turned into Watergate like dramas, because their aren't any big scandals these days in football, so the little ones that are there, are blown up like a rubber spiderman. There is so much saturation coverage of football, so the football media need to keep a step ahead of their football media competition.
I had a gutful of the Milne/Malthouse non-issue that occupied column issues, then they won't let go of the Ablett junior 'will he stay or will he go' soap opera.
Now it is the AKER tale.
If all the ruckus is about Aker allegedly lying and they have to come down hard on him for that- as the AFL did with Malthouse, then it needs to apply across the board, not just to sportstars.
I want all politicians to receive the same treatment every time they lie, as the vitriol that sportsmen and sportswoman have to endure over piddly little molehills that end up as big as Mount Everest . Ditto for car salesmen, real estate agents, journalists, solicitors etc etc.
Greg Baum wrote another good article that appeared in todays AGE newspaper. It was about this current Aker 'saga.' He (Greg Baum) is the best football writer going around- no garbage, no sensationalism, just well reasoned comments without bias, innuendos and muck raking. He should be on the radio as well as the print media.

I agree lets get back on the footy and unfortunately it has now evolved into this Aker saga.

Furious last night. Prepared to ride this season out and just take what comes, I have a feeling we may do things in reverse when it counts.

I loved seeing Lake & Hall in the forward line together in the last quarter. Made me a very happy panda.

so if Cooney, Griffen and Murphy start hitting targets we win? This is cutting edge strategy!
It's a cunning plan, alright!

Good for football
Well done everyone for today. Didn't really feel much joy as had quite the hangover after drowning my sorrows after the Socceroos debacle.
But feeling good at the moment about the Dogs in general.
