A new sub- chapter has recently been added to the FNWB Website.

It is FOOTSCRAY TUBE and it will feature action and extended highlights from particular games. It is similar to the FOOTSCRAY PLAYERS IN ACTION sub-chapter, although FPIA deals more with the efforts of an individual player, where as FOOTSCRAY TUBE concentrates on the team in a nominated match.

At present there is just the one game on there. It is from 25 years ago-

Hawthorn v Footscray 1983:
Round 4 clash from Saturday 16th April 1983 at Princes Park (later to be renamed Optus Oval)

This action takes in most of the last quarter- you will hear commentator Peter Landy mention the F. A.Cup on three occassions. So sit back and enjoy some of the old names like Brian Royal, Steve Wallis, Ricky Kennedy, Brian Cordy, Simon Beasley, Robert Groenewegen(yes you will definitely be unable to escape Gronna) Jim Sewell, Ian Williams, Chris Burton, Andrew Purser, Brian Perrin, Jimmy Edmond, Mark Kellett, Neil Cordy, Rod McPherson, Terry Love, Chris Hansen, Michael McKenna, Steve Knight and Michael Egan.

However two players that you won't see are Doug Hawkins and Steve McPherson- both of these blokes out serving tribunal suspensions.

Soon there will be a few more additions to this sub-chapter.

Hope you all like it - I would be very surprised if any Footscray fans didn't.

This chapter FOOTSCRAY TUBE is increasing in content.

The most recent addition is some action from the Footscray v St Kilda game at home on the Round 13 of Saturday 1st July 1978.

Yes THAT game.

Sit back and enjoy it all again.

Also there should be highlights from two other games up live very soon. One of those two is a much sought after one by Footscray supporters of all ages and eras.

Stay tuned and keep your eye out for FOOTSCRAY TUBE.

There has been more added to FOOTSCRAY TUBE just before Christmas - including some action(well the only action) from the 1954 Grand Final.

I hope everyone enjoys all the action from days gone by- how good to see games from the old home ground.

More updates

There have been two new games added in the last week to the FOOTSCRAY TUBE chapter

1993 North Melbourne v Footscray at MCG

and

1979 Footscray v Essendon at Footscray

Also the appearance has changed- soon their will be 4 images for all games. Initially it was one image then it became two, but I reckon four images adds a bit more life to it.

Please keep a regular look out for the Footscray Tube chapter as it is updated as quickly as can be.

Thanks for the Foostcray – Melbourne grand final. I've only ever seen brief snatches of that before.

Glad to be of assistance Elsternwick Pierre and also happy to learn that you liked the bit of action there on that chapter.

Just please keep an eye out on the Footscray Tube chapter and its sub-chapters, as soon there should be more on there. A few changes occuring that should see more action on the site.
