Neil Armstrong was one of the biggest icons of this century and last century. His walk on the moon was something that inspired so many people. I truly thought his death would make front page of the Herald Sun but to my dismay instead we get Kath and Kim. What a joke !

Unfortunately it is part of the general 'Dumbing Down' of society
Some blame the media, some point the finger at governments, some at marketing gurus
One example that has been mentioned was what happened on the famous quiz show 'Mastermind'
Apparently one contestant gave her specialist subject as
'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'
The
'Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi'
is the prime example and the only thing that is worse than that is
'Doggie, Doggie, Doggie- woof woof woof'
This may change though- well we can only hope
