Terrible news- I remember Phil O'Donnell playing in the 1991 Scottish Cup Final and scoring one of Motherwell's goals in their 4-3 win over Dundee United at Hampden Park.

yes very sad. There's been a call for an inquiry into the long term effects of sports energy drinks in the scottish media.

There seems to often be tragedies in Scottish soccer which is way out of proportion for their small population.
A few players have died on the pitch through the years, others have died prematurely through sudden illness, or accidents the Scotland manager died of a heart attack at the end of a World Cup Qualifier (Jock Stein 1985).
Then there are young wives of (then) current players who have died.
Overall a very sad picture.
