Luke Beveridge is a brilliant coach. He is tough but fair and knows how to play the opposition. Also is very caring and supportive to his players and they play for him.

Yes, I don't know who decided to hire him, but it was a brilliant choice! You feel the players would do everything for him. And Murphy's been great as well, always there, always supporting, and those tears at the end of the game... almost made me cry too.

No matter what happens tomorrow, Luke Beveridge is now the 3rd greatest coach the club has had SINCE 1924.
If they lose by less that the margin in the 1961 Grand Final, then he is statistically the 2nd greatest coach SINCE 1924
If they win by less than 51 points, he is statistically the 2nd greatest coach SINCE 1924.
If they win by more than 51 points then he is statistically the greatest coach SINCE 1924

That bloke who used to wear number 19 in the mid 1990's- he is now a club legend,
If there was something like an organised list of club legends since 1924- then Luke Beveridge would be straight into the top 10.
However I always liked him as a player and -
I am feeling proud of myself (if I do say so myself modesty out the window here in this instance) that a few years ago (well before he was coach) I worked on organising some of Luke Beveridge's goals into the Footscray Players Kicking Goals chapter early doors, when many other players still are not there yet (in the pipeline though)
He looks like a good bloke- and he obviously is
